I sat my test at the time when they closed the toilets and being nervous I drank quite a lot of water and needed the toilet extremely badly when I arrived at the test centre after completing my lesson. To my horror I wasn’t allowed to use the toilets in the test centre. Panicking and frantic my instructor knew we had time 2 go 2 the nearby petrol station so I could use their toilets, to my horror again, their toilets were out of service. We headed back to the test centre and made a plea for me to be allowed to go to the toilet but the plea was refused. I started to cry as it dawned on me that I wasn’t going to be able to relieve myself before taking my test and that I also wasn’t going to be able to hold it in during my test. 15 mins into my test I wet myself and it resulted in me failing as I lost my focus. So to whoever made the decision to deny access to the toilet, thank you for forcing a 19-year old to wet herself during her driving test.

I think pupils wetting themselves has happened. I managed 2 struggle through my test, but failed, but nearly wet myself.

Maybe they expect pupils 2 wet themselves cos it will happen, and may have already happened.

What do they expect our pupils and candidates 2 do? As stated in a previous comment when the local facilities are unavailable and the petrol station toilets are out of order and u have an 18-year old girl about 2 take her test, shaking with nerves, and crossing her legs and close 2 tears with her desperate need 2 go 2 the toilet.

I found the nearest public facilities unavailable and the petrol station toilet out of order as I tried 2 find my desperate 4 the toilet 18-year old pupil sumwhere 2 relieve herself b4 taking her test. She had 2 take her test having been unable 2 go 2 a toilet.

In response to Jo, well done for saving your pupil from the nightmare of having to take her test feeling uncomfortable. I had to take my test with a uncomfortably full bladder. Trying to concentrate was excruciatingly difficult for me.

Well done Paul. I think you are doing a great job. I am sure other BADDIA members are behind you on this one! As I had been pre-warned, I was able to take my pupil to an alternative facility just a few minutes before her test on Wednesday. She did pass but I don’t know what the result would have been if she had been forced to take her test feeling uncomfortable. This is usually the last thing people need to do on the day. It is already a nerve racking experience for them as it is so I do hope HMRC see sense and re open the toilet.

BADDIA has my full support on this, I don’t see any reason why the facilities are restricted. Test candidates, upon arrival at the Test Centre, often require the toilet – they are also normally nervous as their test looms and therefore the last thing they need is to become even more anxious due to trying to find a toilet. The nearest public toilets are not always working and using one in a petrol station is, from my point of view, a very very last resort as they are so disgusting. I know that the one at the Test Centre could do with some sprucing up, but it is better than most petrol stations. It is a building that the public use, therefore there should be facilities there for them.

Fully support BADDIA and, as the toilet facility exists I see no reason why the IRS have closed it to all. On many occasions lately the nearest public facilities have been closed and the local petrol station loo’s out of action what do we expect our pupils to do?
